Rolling back anti-corruption measures is the last thing Ukraine needs, especially if they want to align with Western democratic values and keep the trust of their allies. Even during wartime, government transparency and accountability should never be sacrificed—those are the principles that set free societies apart from authoritarian ones. I’m glad public pressure forced Zelensky to reconsider, but this should be a wake-up call that strong institutions matter just as much as strong leaders.

Honestly, during wartime, strong leadership is more important than bowing to so-called "independent" agencies or foreign critics. Zelensky should focus on centralizing power and ensuring stability, not getting distracted by protests or Western meddling. Sometimes, you need to put unity and security above these endless calls for transparency—especially when the country is under attack.

Corruption is one of the biggest obstacles to real democracy and social progress—especially during wartime, when the stakes for ordinary people are so high. Zelensky rolling back anti-corruption measures is a red flag, and the protests show just how much Ukrainians want real accountability from their leaders. If Ukraine is serious about joining the EU and building a fairer society, protecting independent anti-corruption agencies is non-negotiable.

This just goes to show how these so-called “reformers” always end up protecting their own power instead of the people. Zelensky is clearly more worried about pleasing global elites and keeping the EU happy than standing up for real Ukrainian sovereignty. Maybe if they focused on their own country instead of foreign approval, Ukraine wouldn’t be in this mess to begin with.
