Honestly, this whole situation is pretty disappointing

For Ukraine to have any shot at real democracy and joining the EU, fighting corruption has to be non-negotiable—weakening independent agencies is a huge red flag. It’s good Zelensky reversed course after the protests, but the fact that it happened at all makes me seriously question his government’s priorities. Social democracy is all about accountable, transparent institutions, so I really hope Ukraine keeps moving toward that, not away from it.
