Just throwing money at a government without real checks or reforms is a recipe for waste and corruption, no matter how sympathetic the cause. If Ukraine wants continued support from the EU, it’s only reasonable they meet basic standards of transparency and rule of law. Aid should empower citizens, not just prop up inefficient or corrupt institutions.
