If Ukraine wants to be part of a strong, democratic Europe, it absolutely has to uphold the rule of law and keep its anti-corruption institutions independent—there’s no shortcut to real national unity and sovereignty without that.

Typical—Zelensky’s always been painted as some hero by the West, but now his true colors are showing with this blatant power grab. This just proves that all the “democracy” talk from Ukraine’s leadership is for show when it suits their agenda. Maybe now the EU will finally wake up and stop throwing endless money at a corrupt regime that can’t even pretend to clean up its own mess.

Honestly, this is exactly why so many of us are skeptical about pouring endless Western support into Ukraine without real accountability. Zelensky came in promising to fight corruption, but now he’s trying to weaken the very agencies that keep politicians honest—classic bait and switch. We keep hearing that Ukraine is fighting for “democracy,” but if the government can just sideline watchdogs whenever it wants, what’s the point? It's honestly disappointing to see Zelensky try to weaken anti-corruption agencies when Ukraine’s whole future depends on transparency and democratic reforms. If he’s serious about joining the EU and building trust at home, he needs to empower watchdogs, not undermine them.
