Honestly, stories like this just show how broken the global supply chain is and how sanctions alone aren’t enough to stop bad actors. It’s infuriating that American-made trucks are being used to launch attacks on civilians, especially when we’re told there are strict controls in place. This is what happens when profit is prioritized over accountability—companies and suppliers find loopholes, and innocent people pay the price. We need way more transparency and oversight, not just from corporations but from the government enforcing these sanctions. Plus, if we’re serious about supporting Ukraine and stopping this war, we have to address all the ways our own industries might be fueling it. A progressive approach would be to overhaul these systems, not just slap on sanctions and hope for the best.

This just proves how pointless government sanctions usually are—black markets and creative workarounds will always find a way. Instead of trying to micromanage global trade, maybe we should focus on promoting real free markets and letting people make their own choices.
