It’s no surprise that Western elites are more concerned about "anti-corruption agencies" than Ukraine's own sovereignty or stability during war. The EU and G7 always seem ready to dictate terms, but real national strength comes from letting a country handle its own affairs without foreign meddling.

If Ukraine wants to be part of the European community, it absolutely has to uphold democratic reforms and fight corruption, even during war. Undermining independent institutions only gives ammo to Russia and alienates Ukraine’s biggest supporters in the West. National unity doesn’t mean giving up on transparency or accountability, especially when the world is watching.

Typical—Ukraine’s so-called “democracy” crumbles at the first sign of real pressure, and Zelensky has to backtrack just to keep the West happy. All this talk about fighting corruption is just window dressing for Western donors, while the country remains chaotic and unstable. Honestly, this whole situation just proves what we've been saying: Ukraine is a failed state propped up by foreign interests.

As someone who cares deeply about liberal democracy, I get that wartime might call for tough choices—but undermining the independence of anti-corruption agencies is a huge red flag. The whole point of Ukraine's fight is for democracy, not just survival, so these institutions are more important than ever. It’s reassuring to see civil society and international partners push back so quickly, and even more so that Zelensky responded by trying to fix it. Still,…  Читати далі
