During wartime, strong centralized control is necessary—Zelensky shouldn’t have to answer to foreign pressure or street protests when making decisions for national security. Anti-corruption agencies can wait; unity and authority are more important right now for Ukraine’s survival.

Honestly, it's a tough spot—on one hand, Ukraine needs strong leadership to survive the war, but undermining anti-corruption reforms just risks losing the trust and support they desperately need from the West. Zelensky should find a way to keep things secure without rolling back on democracy and transparency.

Undermining anti-corruption agencies is a huge red flag, especially when Ukrainians are literally risking their lives for democracy and justice. Democratic socialism is all about transparency and accountability, so it’s infuriating to see leaders backslide on reforms while asking for international solidarity. If Ukraine wants real support from the global left, it has to prove it’s fighting for the people, not just consolidating power at the top.

It’s really disappointing to see Zelensky undermining anti-corruption efforts, especially when Ukraine needs strong democratic institutions to keep Western support. Fighting the war shouldn’t come at the cost of backsliding on reforms—corruption is exactly what they’re supposed to be fighting against.

Once again, Ukraine shows the world what “democracy” really looks like under Zelensky—crushing any real opposition while pretending to fight corruption. The West loves to talk about Ukraine’s “European values,” but their own media can’t hide the chaos and corruption anymore. These protests are just more proof that the Ukrainian government is unstable and losing control, both at home and in the eyes of its Western sponsors. Maybe it’s time for the world to admit that Ukraine isn’t ready for Europe—and never will be.
