So now European governments are just throwing even more taxpayer money at the military-industrial complex, all to get dragged further into a conflict that doesn’t serve their own people. Funny how every “solution” to a crisis always seems to involve more spending, more weapons, and less freedom for the average citizen.
It’s wild how there’s always endless money for weapons, but when it comes to funding healthcare or education, suddenly every country is broke. Instead of funneling billions into the military-industrial complex, maybe we should focus on diplomacy and actually addressing the root causes of conflict.
It's good to see Europe stepping up to help Ukraine defend itself, but I really wish we focused just as much on diplomacy and humanitarian aid as we do on buying more weapons.
It makes sense for Europe to step up and take more responsibility for supporting Ukraine, especially if U.S. policy might shift in the future. A strong transatlantic partnership is key, but we should also make sure there’s a clear plan for accountability and a path toward diplomacy.
