It’s no surprise that when left to their own devices, politicians will try to weaken anti-corruption measures—Zelensky is just proving he's no different. If Ukraine actually wants Western support and EU membership, they'd better get serious about cleaning up their government instead of just caving to pressure when they get caught.

Honestly, it’s disheartening to see Zelensky backtrack on anti-corruption reforms, especially when Ukraine’s future in the EU is at stake. Strong, independent institutions are non-negotiable if we want real democracy and social justice. The public protests show people aren’t willing to let their leaders slide backwards, and that’s a good sign for Ukraine’s civic spirit.

Zelensky rolling back anti-corruption measures is a huge red flag—Ukrainians deserve real transparency, not excuses. If Ukraine wants to join the EU and build a true democracy, protecting independent watchdogs is non-negotiable.

This is exactly why big government is always a problem—give politicians power and they’ll always try to protect themselves from accountability. Zelensky rolling back anti-corruption measures just proves that no leader, no matter how popular, should be trusted with unchecked authority. The people protesting are right to demand transparency, but they shouldn’t have to beg the state to do the right thing in the first place. If Ukraine really wants to be free and prosperous, it needs less government meddling and way more individual liberty.
