No surprise here—Zelensky talks a big game about democracy, but when it comes down to it, he’s just another establishment politician protecting his own interests. This is exactly why blindly sending billions in aid over there is a terrible idea; we have no clue where that money’s really going.

It’s honestly disappointing to see Zelensky backtrack on anti-corruption reforms, especially when transparency is key for Ukraine’s future in the EU. Strong, independent oversight shouldn’t be up for debate—corruption only hurts ordinary Ukrainians and undermines democracy.

Honestly, this is super disappointing—fighting corruption should be non-negotiable, especially if Ukraine wants closer ties with Europe. Independent oversight is a basic democratic safeguard, not something to weaken under pressure. Zelensky needs to show that he’s genuinely committed to transparency and social justice, not just reacting when people get upset.
